The author takes the reader on an auto tour from Detroit, Michigan to Charleston, South Carolina and back, visiting various American Civil War sites along the way. These sites include, but arent limited to Fort Sumter, Appomattox Court House, Richmond, VA, Fredericksburg National Military Park, Manassas National Battlefield Park, Harpers Ferry National Historic Park, Antietam National Battlefield, Gettysburg National Military Park, and Yuengling Brewery, Americas oldest brewery, (not an American Civil War site). The auto tour was done in biographical order for speed and convenience, and not in chronological order. Therefore reader, you might get a Ulysses or 2 (inside joke). The author enjoyed the auto tour immensely, and writing about it was just as fun and interesting. I hope you enjoy it too. Im proud of my great, great grandpa for fighting in the American Civil War, and I hope he would be proud of me too for writing about it. God bless America! God bless our troops!!
